Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

There's a grain of truth in the load of ore...

For a couple years now I've been "thinning the herd" and have sold off a thousand or so LP's. Most have gone to my local EllPeeHut here in Southern California who consistently offer me fair prices-- with a fat bonus if I take store credit, which I do. We're pals now!

In those 2 years the price they pay for LP's has risen from an average (based on a large number of rekkids) of around $2.50 to maybe $4 today. Its tracking my friggin' health insurance bills! Bad news is, about 3 LP's that sold for $6-7 total bought one new (vintage) LP 2 years ago. Today, 3 LP's for $ 12-15 total buys one new LP. Can't get ahead on that treadmill...

Good news though- there is a sort of young-folks, hip, urban, used junk/clothing store here that has records. Any LP they know the name of the artist is $7-10 bux, but apparently they don't know many names- like Herbie Hancock or John McLaughlin or Boz Scaggs... so those are under the table in the $1 bin. I scored a couple pretty minty discs there but to keep it low key, I'm not sitting on the floor flipping every dusty crate like we used to in the Golden Age. They're on a 2-3 week rotation.
