Basically it's a synergy between all aspects of a deck.

I feel it's mostly affected by how well, or poorly, the system transfers energy. Regas always perform best when located on a light, rigid support that transfers energy rapidly.

Ken Lyon's Neuance shelves are best, followed by the Rega wall shelf and finally, the lowly Ikea Lack table.

The glass platter transfers energy better than just about any other. Light alloy platters are good at this generally as well. MDF and acrylic sucks.


Wanna kill drive and dynamics on a Rega? Sit it on a heavy, massive support.

I haven't owned a Rega in 3-4 years, but my Neuance shelf, which is no longer in production, ain't for sale.
