You know, i tried to rip 300 Cd's once on an old Imac. Then i made a mistake and the Imac wiped out 300 WAV files. A month of work for nothing. Then i gave up.
The old Imac hooked up via USB to a Tascam interface with a street value of 50 euro. Didn't sound bad at all. My vintage Sony ES CDP had a little more weight to the sound, it sounded more "analog", bad term i know. OTOH having your music collection in a database like Itunes has its merits.
I have most of my CD's in DJ wallets which can take up to 300 CD's. They take up much less space this way. I have a database of my CD's in PDF format on my tablet. So i can look up the album, see which (numbered) wallet it's in. Each wallet is ordered by name of the artist in alphabetical order. I can get to the wanted CD within a minute.
