Yes I have a Spotify account but that's still compressed audio, 320 Kbps. My old ears can tell the difference. OTOH you can listen to Anton Webern all day if you want to.
I use Tidal HIFI which delivers lossless Redbook quality. And you can listen to Webern all day with it as well. :)
Streaming? Then i would have to rip ca. 3000 CD's etc. No way.
Like the saying goes, "you eat an elephant one bite at a time". While my collection is only a third the size of yours, I ripped mine across a period of a couple of weeks. Set a realistic goal - say two months - and use a quick and automatic tool like dbPoweramp and you're there.
Why invest that much time up front? To spend far less time shuffling discs to and from shelf and player from that time forward. Another challenge I had was the need for moving CDs from one system to another or burning CDR copies. Now I have a single digital library which also contains high rez content that is accessible from all my systems.
Streaming can be a beautiful thing. This from an old boomer who still listens to his vinyl collection in the main system. :)
