Hi Brian,
I usually play my Sota Millennia with SME V because it is the better turntable. I used to play the Technics more often until I replaced my Sota stepper motor with a three-phase motor and controller . My Sota now keeps perfect speed so I usually listen to the Sota. It's fun to have the Technics, though.
I bought the Technics SL-1200 Mk2 back in 2009 when it was getting a lot of raves here in the Asylum. I wanted to find out first hand what everyone was talking about and the Technics does sound very good. If I didn't already own the Sota Millennia with SME V, I could easily live with the Technics as my primary turntable. However, since I do own the Sota, it makes more sense to play the better sounding turntable.
Best regards,
John Elison
