That is basically a one-point alignment because the inner null-point is not within the playing area of any record for which I'm familiar. Very odd!
I don't know why you're making such a big deal about the fact that for a null-point to be valid for a given tonearm, the stylus must come in contact with the null-point. That's a given. However, there is only one dimension needed to define a null-point and that is its distance from the center of the record. Another thing that is understood is that the distance from the center of the record must also be in the plane of the record and not somewhere out in space. Therefore, in addition to the fact that the null-point must fall on the arc made by the stylus you should also mention that the stylus' arc must be on the surface of the record and not somewhere out in space.
Anyway, its obvious to me that the designer of Kenwood's 2055 tonearm knows nothing about tonearm geometry and it's also obvious that to argue further with you about what constitutes a null-point would be futile and unproductive. If you want to argue that a null-point can only be a null-point if it falls on the arc made by the stylus, so be it. However, I can't imagine that anyone would think that some point out in space is a null-point for their tonearm if it's not located on the vinyl surface and if it doesn't come in contact with their tonearm's stylus.
Good luck,
John Elison
