RE: I totally believe the math. What I have learned is that I cannot convey

> The other thing I have learned is that you can rotate the protractor with no-tonearm-sight-line in order to find two points of tangency for a shorter tonearm(like Kenwood).

You also have to rotate the Turntable Basics protractor in order to check alignment at both null-points. However, it's not possible to align the short Kenwood tonearm to both null-points of 66-mm and 120.9-mm simultaneously. The Kenwood tonearm dimensions will not allow it.

I think both protractors should match. When you measure the distance from the center of the spindle hole to each null-point, are you saying that the Turntable Basics protractor and your two-point protractor do not have the same null-points? I would think that both protractors should have null-points at 66-mm and 120.9-mm from the center of the spindle hole. Nevertheless, both protractors require rotating to place the stylus on each null-point.

I'm now wondering if you've ever aligned a tonearm before. From everything you're saying, it sounds like you're just now discovering how to use a protractor. Perhaps you should read Brian Kearns' post on aligning a cartridge using a two-point protractor. Check it out at the link below.
