I don't think this is correct. Have you heard of Pythagorean's theorem for right triangles.

Pythagorean's theorem says that a 2 + b 2 = c 2 where "c" is the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle and "a" and "b" are the lengths of the two other sides. Therefore, if "a" was equal to the pivot-to-spindle mounting distance and "b" was equal to the distance from the spindle to the null-point, then "c" would be the effective length. I think you'll find that a 2 + b 2 does not equal c 2 . Let's take a closer look.

215 2 - 205.5 2 = 3994.75

The square root of 3994.75 is 63.2, which is not one of the null-points. It's actually a point in-between the two null-points. However, it can be a null-point when the offset angle is adjusted for a single null-point alignment.
