RE: "Still?"

When I worked in the little record shoppe across the street in college, they had a small desk-top plastic film-sealer machine in the back. It looked like a big paper-cutter. If you were careful you could make the re-seal jobs look quite like factory original and stick a returned LP back in the bin. [Hey, it's America- you're being cheated every day, right now in all likelihood!] The the term "sealed" is therefore a dubious description. A seller today might have no real knowledge of whether any sealing is "still" original.

As far as the cut corners and holes drilled through the jacket corners, those are cut-outs, intentionally mangled, marking them to be returned to the distributor for recycling for a variety of commercial reasons. That process was subverted one way or another often enough, and they ended up in the bins around half price (occasionally you'd find a radio station promo LP in there too!)

The cut-outs were generally still in the factory film when they were cut. A reputable seller today should note if the jacket is cut or drilled. As far as claims about them being sealed- use a grain of salt. They're separate things.
