There's really no comparison. The Sorane tonearm is basically the same as most ordinary pivotal tonearms but the Dynavector has a unique bearing configuration. The Dynavector's vertical bearing is located just behind the headshell with its counterweight slightly further back. Its lateral bearing is located in the normal position at its base where it has another counterweight to compensate for cartridge mass. However, the main part of the tonearm moves only laterally but not vertically. In comparison, the Sorane tonearm is just like any ordinary pivotal tonearm except for its rectangular cross-section arm tube.
