I wish I had gotten into this discussion ten days ago because not only is digital measurably more accurate than analog tape and vinyl, but it sounds more accurate, too. I discovered the accuracy of digital when I made my first recording of a vinyl record using a DAT recorder. My digital recording sounded just like a vinyl record. At any rate, it sounded closer to the sound of vinyl and than any analog tape recording of vinyl that I had made previously. That's when I decided that the objective measurements of digital accuracy might be correct and that vinyl sounded the way it did because of euphonic distortions.

Best regards,
John Elison
