RE: Mint protractor-Nottingham Analog Interspace arm

A sliding bass is much more expensive. Unless you have a design similar to the SME V, IV, and 300 series tonearms, a sliding base does not have the structural integrity of a fixed base. I don't think the sliding base on older SME tonearms had the structural integrity of fixed bases or of the newer SME design. That's just my opinion, though.
