I deeply love my Dynvector XX - mine's an old Mk 1 but the new versions might be worth a listen if you were interested. Its sound is full, lively and solid- emotion comes through.
Going to an MM might take the warm, emotional thing too far, depending on your downstream components. Matching and balancing the sonic signature of the MM becomes the whole show, IMO. That show is made harder if you have a high-end digital section too.
The performance of probably any high-end MC is quite interactive with the arm and table and you can't assess it until you conduct the big experiment which begins by pulling out the Platinum Mastercard... Did you read User510's insightful review of the Shelter in a Graham arm?
The bigger experiment might be with your step-up device IMO. A sort of breakthrough came about recently for me by going back to an MCT, finding one which is highly synergistic with the Dyna. Just a point to ponder: the Slee headamp you mention has a bunch of different loading options, etc. but where the rubber meets the road is in the amplifier circuitry's ability to handle the formidable ultrasonic output of an MC. Just one Bear's opinion but most solid-state circuits fall down in this area yielding a sort of hardness while an MCT seems to have less "glare." Like all audiophile rationales I'm making this up, but it comes from having had many head-amps and transformers through the years.
Read the excellent article attached about transformers, loading, bandwidth, and ringing. It'll get you fired up to consider an MCT. Maybe my little transformer is yielding a sort of softness that works in my system- but it works with everything else, and I'm about done with my experiments... (for now).
