I believe trying to hook this motor up as a WYE configuration, as suggested, could be a very dangerous situation. My interpretation of NEC, various IEC, etc, etc.
It is never OK to use a Green/yellow striped wire as a neutral/return current path.
If I'm correct, and Papst has this motor wired as I am assuming, hooking it up as you are suggesting could result in a live motor chassis. I believe the green wire is tied directly to the motors metallic chassis and isn't tied to the windings at all. Possibly very dangerous situation, indeed!
National Electric Code, here in the USA, specifies a special purpose for a green wire with a yellow stripe. I think most of the world, including most of Europe, is fairly well harmonized in this respect and does it the same way.
The name of the relavent subject in this case "Equipment Grounding". within the NEC text.
I'm not some kind of NEC expert, but Equipment Grounding, wich is part of NEC's elaboarate fire prevention/fault current handling requirents, is never allowed to carry any load current.
It is strictly forbidden.
I believe the green/yelow wire is intended as part of a code compliant installation.
Maybe I'm incorrect, but one needs to be careful about this stuff. I'm ok with being told I'm incorrect. I'm not ok with someone getting ijured playing with this fun hobby!
