I never stopped playing vinyl from when I was a child and bought my first LP with "my own money" ("Introducing The Beatles on VeeJay) and I listen to LP's because 1.) my record collection is the soundtrack of my life and 2.) I can't afford to replace them, and don't want to. I likewise found thousands of LP's in the late 80's for embarrassingly low prices and am still cleaning and listening to the last several hundred of those purchases!
The above purposely omits the tired question of the sound of vinyl records versus digital media. I used to voice very strong opinions on this topic largely driven by the evil sound of early CD players and what I think was the poor handling of analog mastertapes in the rush to grind out CD's in the 80's. I recently updated some digital components and can say that they produce warm, lively sound from CD's and PC files. No one in their right mind could have made that statement in 1990 IMO but times change.
I buy only a few select records filling what seem to be isolated gaps in my library- it's just mild OCD. The performance and the care and attention to the recording process carries much more weight than having an LP, just for the sake of touching and cleaning it.
