RE: they WON'T BE MISSED by me

That looks nice!

I'm concerned about how the 16.5 works for vacuuming, though. I think a Nitty Gritty might be better because both sides of the record are wet when you remove it from your ultrasonic cleaner. This will get the turntable on the VPI 16.5 wet when vacuuming. The Nitty Gritty, on the other hand, seems much better adapted for vacuuming a record when both sides are wet since the Nitty Gritty doesn't have a turntable but just a small spindle platform the size of the record label. Furthermore, my VPI model 17 has a cork turntable mat that I wouldn't want to get wet. I'm thinking of putting together one of these ultrasonic cleaners, but I might have to get a Nitty Gritty for vacuuming.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
John Elison

PS. It just occurred to me that I suppose I could use a rubber mat to cover the cork mat on my VPI HW-17. That should work just fine. However, I think the Nitty Gritty would be better for vacuuming a record that's wet on both sides.
