In other words, I can't get away with that but Henry can? That doesn't seem fair. ;-)

I've always heard that Rega turntables have to be placed on light/rigid stands to sound good. I've always heard they won't sound good on massive stands like the ones I've used for all my turntables, which incidentally have excellent bass. This was the basis for my comment.

I'm glad you enjoy your Rega, but apparently the original poster has a problem with his relative to bass response. Maybe he should get subwoofers. ;-)

PS. I also have subwoofers in my system but I don't have Golden Ear speakers. However, one of my friends with a VPI Prime also has Golden Ear speakers and they sound very good.
