I own a Technics SL-1200 Mk2 modified by Kevin Barret of KAB Electro Acoustics and I highly recommend KAB. See if you can find a Technics SL-1200 Mk2 or later model and send it to Kevin for his excellent modifications. I had him rewire the tonearm with Cardas wire, install a strobe disabler to reduce ripple in the power supply, install a silicone fluid tonearm damping mechanism and install a DC voltage plug so I could run it from batteries or from a DC power supply.
