'round 1981 Santana "Zebop" CBS Mastersound - HC 47158. It was the year I got my first "real" hi-fi and it was an eye-opener. It cost me a hair under $10 bux. Same beloved slab-o'-vinyl is still spinning here at the Bearcave and 36 years on is still an eye-opener. There's one of "your best entertainment values" - you betcha!
In 1981 CD's were more-or-less a rumor but would soon come around the bend and wipe the LP record off the map for many years. I just want to say THANKS to the music business wankers for that- by about 1986 or so I was buying LPs for $20 for whole moving boxes full. Goodwill had the massive parking-lot sales in Seattle, selling them by the pound in the last couple days! I was able to get literally ALL the music I ever wanted for pennies. I figgered' "someday" I could play them all and sift out the "good stuff" Well- for one time in my life, someday actually GOT HERE!
