... to see the passage of the greats we grew up with. He was only a little older than me. I had the pleasure of hearing him play at the Triple Door in Seattle a several years ago, and it was a fine show.
I do believe I have his whole discography originally issued on vinyl from "Lady Coryell" to "planet End" plus 11th House-- all really solid work. I was stunned to see ASHRA's "Free Spirits" LP (ASHRA has such a killer record library!)
Coryell is possibly the first real fusion jazz player, presaging the cats who played with Miles fusion bands by a couple years.
