"Gate of Dreams" [W-B BS3006, 1977] with a jazz combo fronting a symphony orchestra. This guy arranged and composed everything in the world from about 1960 to 2010 including the instrumental portions of 70 Cree Taylor albums for Verve. I just pulled this out of a .50-Euro bin because it has Michael Brecker, Joe Sample, and George Benson. If you're gonna emulate Duke Ellington I say "go big" and Ogerman did (no vocals though). Excellent sweeping score that somehow weaves beautifully around the playing of these CT-stable virtuosi.
