...since their fine "Mystic Moods Orchestra" records of the 60's - 70's! I was compelled to pull out my oldest MMO record "More Than Music" (1967, Philips PHS 600-231) and be serenaded by glistening, schmaltzy strings playing movie theme music accompanied by bugs chirping, tugboats tooting and, of course, LOCOMOTIVES! All sounding exactly like the theme from "Exodus" or "Born Free."Seems to this Bear to be a near-total waste of good recording technology and fine vinyl production-- with apologies to the true fans (this is called an Asylum for a reason.) * I can just picture my Uncle Walt --played by John Goodman, a dead ringer-- blasting this from his enormous colonial-style wood console hi-fi with a manly, satisfied look on his face.
With such albums as "Love Tokens" and perennial favorite "English Muffins" under his belt, Miller launched MFSL together with genius Stan Ricker starting by reissuing (!) MMO titles from the past, I think most without the bugs and locomotives...
* I'd be glad to mail this LP to anyone who wants it, complete with chirping bugs, FREE OF CHARGE! Its a little noisy (haha) but plays through. PM me via AA-- first Inmate gets it. Oops, just found "Stormy Night" -- you can have that (with no water damage) too!
