Well it seems you've asked a question that may not be possible to answer with any facts, but only theories.As far as a 1A press vs a 2A pressing. If a stamper is good for say 5000 pressings then obviously the first pressing is going to sound better than the 5000th. This is why we live in a world of numbered limited pressings.
As far as the 2A goes, it depends on what may have been changed. Two good example of this is Steely Dan/Katy Lied and Jethro Tull/Benefit. Both of which have second or later pressings that are much improved over the first ones.
So unless you are asking about a specific title you may have to settle for theories.
