QRP/AP "The Trinity Session"

Okay, I've been in love with this recording by the Cowboy Junkies since it came out. I have the original RCA LP and the Classic Records 200gm reissue. Although both are good renderings, I never felt like either of them really nailed it. Hard to put my finger on the root cause, but both of them had more surface noise than I liked for such a subdued performance. Every tic and pop seemed magnified against the supple background of Margo's sultry tones. So, I took a chance on the QRP AP reissue. It's 33 RPM on two LPs. I pre-ordered it from Acoustic Sounds in August and waited. It arrived near the end of October and due to some circumstances beyond my control it sat for nearly six weeks before I could give it a listen. I will cut straight to the chase ... IMO, this IS the one to own. Dead quiet, 3D rendering of Margo, the boys and the venue. My original and the Classic reissue are going in the cull pile. Chad and his crew in Salina did themselves proud with this one. Very highly recco'd.
