I just watched the Tower of Power 40th Anniversary concert on YouTube. Why? Because Bootsy Collins told me to, on Facebook. Abysmal low-bitrate sound, like hearing it over a telephone.

But what a horn section! That band is fit to share the stage with Sam Moore. IMO it's all on David Garibaldi and Rocco Prestia- perhaps the tightest rhythm section I've ever heard. Rocco is in a rare league with Bootsy Collins, Anthony Jackson and Larry Graham as 40+ year funk/jazz bass gods.

I gotta take the antidote now- some complex, obscure jams to help me unfunk a little.
