Chef- arguments about plug standards aside, unless you're obsessed with preserving its historic character you could just chop that Euro plug off and put on a good, new AC plug, assuming you can set the voltage and frequency of the AC input on that turntable to your mains (US- I assume 120V/60Hz). A fine hospital-grade plug costs little, makes as perfect electrical contact as feasible, and lasts forever. (The moniker "Hospital Grade" just means it has passed brutal durability tests and has a clear acrylic plastic contact block enabling you to visually confirm wire contact within the plug body). All that for 12 bucks! Not very pretty to look at, but some come in whitish or clear plastic, some with a little neon lamp inside, well.. they aren't very attractive either but possess good engineering attributes.
