RE: Downtown San Diego record shops

Feelit records on 909 E street is a nice little store with a friendly & chatty owner-it's a pretty good hike from the Manchester, though. If I were you, I'd Uber over to Record City at 3757 6th St in the Hillcrest area-less than 10 minutes away from you by car. The owner Graham is a good guy who prices records fairly and doesn't put any crap records in the bins. I make it over there at least once a month and always find some gems. I can also recommend Cow Records in Ocean Beach, a good selection in a fun and funky neighborhood (think head shops). I can also second the recs for Stereo Unlimited, the Jazz & classical sections are particularly good.

Also be sure to have a drink in the bar at the top of the Hyatt, one of the best views in town. If the Padres are in town, stop by the Tin Fish across from the convention center, grab some fish tacos and listen to my buddy Joe Rathburn sing and play guitar until 7:30 or so.
