Until recently, all my MMs were in the 4-6 mv range, but now i have one at 2.2 mv and a couple HOMCs at 1.6 mv. The 48 dB setting on one of my pres comes in handy with them. The best sounding phono preamp I have is the Budgie tube unit, but it is only 38 dB gain and dynamics suffer with those low output carts.
