IMO these Brandenburgs are among the best of the HIP of that work I own. Better than the AAM with Hogwood and the Concentus Musicus Wien with Harnoncourt in terms of performance and the sound is very good as are the pressings. The fact that it has them in the proper order spread over six sides instead of the usual four is just icing on the cake.
The other two works, the Six Partitas for Solo Harpsichord and Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord etc. are equally well done.
I would spend upwards of $20 to $25 for a NM set.
Science is the great antidote to the poison of enthusiasm and superstition.
