RE: Xonon & Sound Card Specs

Actually the phono preamp gain is 57dB. Max gain is 71dB single ended and I've reduced it by -14dB with jumpers for a total gain of only 57dB. (I'll redo those calculations).

I get the .26 ratio to have a margin of 3dB.

Not sure I understand this:

I see these values add up to 47K. Besides the fact that I'm using a 250 ohm phono preamp input load on the cartridge, not 47K (It sounds better that way), why am I looking for a 47K OUTPUT on the Xono? The Xono's output impedance is 300 ohms.

The sound card is in line following the phono preamp output. Why do we care about the phono preamp input? I'm trying to change the output in front of the soundcard and I don't know what it's input impedance is or what would be optimal loading.

Sorry if I'm a little slow on this.
