Yes, thanks John. I tried using the moving magnet section. Gain is too low.
There is no problem with the cartridge or the phono preamp as there is no visible clipping when I hook the phono preamp outputs directly up to my old oscilloscope. Peak to peak voltage looks to be about .3mV but its very tough to read.
Also, if I play a -14 dB signal 1K Hz from the Cardas test record, there is no clipping on the Adjust Plus program's oscilloscope. That doesn't help because I can't use that record to run the Adjust Plus tests. That signal is also too low, but at least I get a wave form on Adjust Plus.
Here are the specs Specs:
Etna cartridge: Output 5 cm/ sec @ 1K zero to peak at 45 degrees
Adjust Plus Test record setting: 0dB reference level @ 1K Hz
Xono gain: MC setting used single ended with lowest gain - 57dB
Xonar U7 computer sound card: 1V RMS line in and line out for full voltage. If these were the soundcard specs don't see why I'd be having a problem.
