many years ago and it is/was a good looking turntable. It seemed to work reasonably well, but the build quality didn't quite match the looks. The cuing lever and other parts weren't all that solid for example. Sometime the arm was a little slow to regain tangency which defeats the whole purpose. Leveling of course was very important. I'm sure the ST-8 was better. I can't remember being wowed by the sonics.
Like you, I tend to keep things that work well. I didn't keep this one and liked the VPI HW-19 that replaced it a whole lot better.
I wonder how well these things have held up all these years. Where can you get parts? I'd do a little more research, but this article tells me everything I would need to say "No":
