Just arrived - the Staples Singers "Freedom Highway," beautifully re-mixed by Steve Addabbo, Steve Berkowitz, and Nedra Olds-Neal. This release includes the entire service at Chicago's New Nazareth Church on April 9, 1965, which was about three weeks after the third Selma march. It also captures the energy in the church, which was largely missing from the original LP. Beautiful pressing, too. I assisted a couple days on these sessions. I didn't do much, other than patching in a couple pieces of gear, and ordering lunch once or twice, but it sure was exciting hearing the whole service come to life after being locked away in tape vaults for decades. Good job!
