RE: New here: need tips for care of Vinyl and turntable tips, (I have a Garrard 95-B)

How will the 95B for record care?
Just fine, particularly if you don't use it as a changer. Will it work? Sure, if the rubber on the idler wheel hasn't hardened over the decades, and as long as the main bearing and other moving-pieces-bearings lube is still good. (Some greases especially can get gummy over the years. I don't know if that applies to the 95B.) If it doesn't work, or is noisy, or has speed issues, then go get a new entry-level turntable from Pro-Ject, Rega, Music Hall, etc. With those you can have a ready-to-go decent turntable with cartridge for $500 or maybe less. Needledoctor has a selection.

Cartridge sources:
The cheapie Grado or Audio Technica moving-magnet cartridges are far better than their low prices indicate. No, you don't want a ceramic flipover. Lots of dealers for cartridges - needledoctor.com has a big selection.

Sleeves
Use the google. I get mine from sleevecity.com.

Record cleaning
Short of a wet/vacuum cleaning machine, I seem to remember liking the $20 Discwasher. Machines start at $450ish (Nitty Gritty) or $650ish for the VPI 16.5, and lots, lots more for other options.

Start spinning.
