for the XX2 Mk.2
This cartridge is a pleasure to install. It's sides are parallel and it is very easy to handle with minimal threat to the cantilever. There is a rudimentary stylus guard that does what it should but at this price point should be A WHOLE LOT BETTER! Setup was accomplished using my old eyes and a MoFi GeoDisc. Alignment was checked using an arc protractor and is now spot on. Tracking force is set at 2g and antiskate is about 1.5g set by ear. SRA is set with the tonearms raised in the back and is as good as I could get it w/o a USB scope (on order).
Simply put, this is the best cartridge I have had in my system. The ability of this cartridge to pull information from the groove is outstanding. The retrieval of inner detail, microdynamics, and spatial reproduction are all outstanding, and this is across all types of music. This cartridge is an incredible reproducer of the power range and specifically the bass region of music, giving classical music an amazing foundation. Don't assume that this is at the expense of the other parts of the musical spectrum. From top to bottom the music has an organic feel that leaves me immersed in the musical performance regardless of the genre being played. Imaging is outstanding when the recording has the information to allow it and has great depth and width. Height is very dependent on the recording.
Product Weakness: Expensive Product Strengths: Presents an organic picture of the music. Nothing is out of balance compared to anything else.
