I never buy this argument. There's stuff I have had in my collection for years that I hadn't listened to, only to be inspired to play and enjoy and be happy that I owned it after all those years. Somebody writes about it, or I hear a snipped of music from the artist or album on radio, or I'm looking through the collection one night for something different and up it pops. Who knows? But it's there. I figure the borderline stuff that I don't play as often I'm not gonna make much dough off, and the whole damn thing can be donated when I'm gone. But for now I like having stuff that may not get played for a long time, until it does.
Culling is generally not for me. But then again I don't go to Goodwill or look through the 50 cent and dollar bins at record stores. And I don't randomly buy collections. I buy to keep and listen.
