picked up the expanded 2LP set by Mad Season thats out for RSD. side project seattle supergroup with members of alice in chains (layne), pearl jam, screaming trees. even tho they existed and worked only during the peak of seattle grunge, mad season's music was always outside the realm of grunge, and is more eclectic than most music from that time - its moody, brooding, adventurous and even has some horn accents. it has stood the test of time with flying colors. to learn more about the band and music, look around for reviews of the original release by more articulate reviewers.
not only is the music worthy of current exploration (or re-exploration), but the sound on this pressing is amazing. clear, wide-range, deep bass, good separation etc. even if you have mad season on cd, consider springing for any copies left of this record, besides the great sound you get additional material. my copy is numbered in the high 2,000's so i would guess that they pressed at least 3,000 copies.
this one should not have been limited to RSD, it deserves a full re-issue.
