The hardest part was getting the veneer to lay flat, clamping it in position and book matching the seams. I used a cold press glue which was kind of difficult, use too much and you have a mess. It was better to use too little really. I've had cabinet building experience, but access to better tools. This was done in my basement with nothing but a skill saw, straight edge, router, jig saw, cordless drills, and lots and lots of bar clamps.
