RE: Here's a ittle film featuring one..

Yeah I saw that. Neat little film.

Don't know what I can tell you that you can't find on the web. My understanding is that these tables flew under the radar from the more gloried 301/401 sets, but were the last ones to be made up to the standards(i.e no cheap plastic, cutting corners) that came after in the Garrard line. I had, never ind own, an idler table before and maybe that's a big part of the magic. This particular table was restored by a certified analog junkie, an architect by trade who has several more at his home and had up to 50 sitting around at one time. You should see his other stuff. Anyway, whether it's the synergy working with my Heathkit amps and Cornwall speakers, my romanticism about this stuff, or whatever, I feel I have taken several steps forward in my continued journey through this hobby of ours and I ain't going back. I was going to replace the Shure Premier cart on it with a Denon 103 but have decided to simply replace the stylus with a Jico SAS and try to keep this thing as whole as possible. Fun stuff.
