After hooking up my Hunt record brush to a wall ground (using an 8 foot length of 28 AWG stranded copper wire), the result was unmistakeable: this little tweak not only removed all the static charge from the record surface, it discharged the entire platter!
I know this because I have an ERS platter mat on my Goldmund Studietto TT. The platter itself is Metacrylate (acrylic), and often when removing a record from the platter, the mat would stick (tightly!) to the bottom side of the record . . . .
Not any more ;~))
