RE: Mundane yet vital question about VPI 16.5 and/or 17 units.

If at all possible, get the HW-17. I have owned both. The 16.5 is adequate. The 17 is the BEST ( stronger motor, stronger vacuum, cooler running and Bi-directional).

The HW-17 has an outside width of 22" ( 19&1/2" foot to foot). The depth front to back is 15&1/4" ( 14" foot to foot ).
