RE: Rega P9 felt mat replacement

I have two recommendations. Both I feel are better sounding than the felt mat and both are availble direct from the companies that make them.

Most affordable recommendation is Herbies Audio Lab Way Excellent TT Mat. I have compared this mat directly against mats link the Ringmat and the Funk mat and thought it sounded better. At about $60 the Herbies mat is a bargain IMO.

Boston Audio Mat 1. Not cheap ($200), but the only mat that I have heard that sounds better than the Herbies mat.

Both companies offer 30 day guarantee so you can order, try, and if you don't like return for a refund if you don't want to take a Rega dealers word for it. I use the Herbies mat generally on our RP1 and RP3 tables and also on the RP6, but on the RP6 and RP8, the boston audio mat is worth the it and what I usually use on those tables.
