Yeah, the 'click' sound tells you your'e pulling too fast on the trigger.
I saw some video on youtube the other day of a guy demonstrating his record cleaning technique.
First thing he does is point the zerostat at the record and go 'click-click-click-click-click-click-click'.
I had a zerostat for twenty years and it worked fine. I sold it to some guy at work and he broke it in three days.
