Who makes CD copies of LPs?........

I have a Marantz CD recording deck that I got to make copies of LPs to give to friends. I followed the instructions and purchased blank audio CDs intended for analog music recording. I finally got around to making a CD recording as a gift. The problem is the CD will play only on my Marantz recorder deck and computers. I had set the recorder to Analog so I'm stumped. I used CD blanks for music to play on CD players so what gives.
Can someone direct me to CD media that is analog for CD players first and foremost? What brands/type of CD blanks do I need? Do they still make CD/RW?
