Wow, finally a clear concise empirical way of setting SRA, nice job Jon. I went home and using a 20x loupe checked mine out (I have a bentz ruby). It was so far off - I am embarrassed. I had to lower the arm as far as it will go to get it in the range.Placeboo effect - believe me when I tell you - I didn't want this to work. It is so far away from the angle I'd been using - it couldn't sound any good right?
Results - remember that rule about: lower SRA = dull, less highs? It is wrong! I never heard such realistic triangles, cymbals ect. But the best is the tonal balance. I always used to think that the description of the Ruby's ability to portray a realisic midrange was exagerated - until last night. This is unbelievable. Well, I thought I knew it all (at least alot) about VTA - I was wrong. This is an amazing improvment Thanks Jon
