Zu-103 mounting on VPI Classic

By total coincidence, I have also a VPI Classic, ZU-103. I'm curious about your experience mounting and aligning the ZU-103 on this arm.

First, the standard counter weight on mine is *just* heavy enough to balance the this cart to 2.5g of down force. The counter weight is actually hanging off the arm stub by 1/4" or so. Does that coincide with your experience? Did you get a heavier counter weight?

Second, I had a hard time getting the overhang set correctly according to the VPI alignment gauge. The cart mounting screws are pulled *almost* all the way to the rear of the slots in order to put the stylus tip on "the spot". Made me nervous about the angle tonearm wires need to take at the cartridge clips (mainly the green one). I checked the platter spindle to arm pivot distance with a Feickert Protractor and measured 258mm. I think that's correct if memory serves.

Thanks for any thoughts...
