Having an OrbeSE, and two different armboards for a Graham 2 I found that one was a bit thicker and weighed about 50(?) grams more.
Did anyone ever tell you what the weight for the armboard was actually supposed to be? Loking at the data a 309 is 717g. your armboard 235g.
If I remember correctly, the armboard + arm should be no more than 1kg. If the weight of the 309 and your orig. armboard are less than that I would suspect the springs or somehow your subchassis was given too much densodamp or the screwed in weight/s were too heavy.
