I have no idea how your low values were obtained at 1 kHz in one channel. (Unfortunately, my Shure stulys is a little old now and need replacement. The cantilever is also a little skewed, not much but visible. I will come back with some measurements too when I've replaced the stylus.)What can be seen is that crosstalk follows the frequency response curve. When crosstalk is low there is higher output at the f response curve and the other way around. That should be natural since increased crosstalk means leaking output from the channel.
When these things happen at 8-20 kHz, is it then because of phase errors and because there measurements are made outside of the null points? In that case, the phenomenon should be on every cartridge measured with the same arm in the same spot on the record, if not the stylus shape can change this or if the cartridge is not perfectly aligned. Or is it internal resonances in the MC cartridge due to the coil leads that cause this?
The OC9, being an MC but with similar stylus shape as the Shure, should be interesting to see.
