but you imply all arms of the same effective mass have the exact same distribution of mass over the length of the arm from pivot to stylus point. I have a hard time believing it is not possible to achieve the same effective mass but with a marked difference in how much is located where. The distrubution of that mass will also dictate to some extent the mass and location of the counter weight and it associated effect on the total effective mass.It seems to me one could lower the headshell mass from where it was originaly and distribute mass along the length of the armtue to compensate thus maintaing the effective mass where it was originally. The converse must also be possible. I'm not referring to better or worse.
