Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

You have a pretty nice tt and cartridge so.......

Why are you using an AV receiver? Do you listen to your records on an HT system? I don't know if anyone else here is doing so but I will never do so myself. Don't take it as snobbish, I don't even own an HT system and possibly never will. If I do, I won't spend over 100 bucks for the whole mess. On the other hand, I don't mind if I have 10k in a turntable and another 5k in phono pre and preamp. Again, please don't think of that as snobbery, there are many here with that or more in theirs.
If you are using an HT receiver to listen to vinyl, I'd also rethink that and get some decent separates. You don't have to spend a fortune to do so, probably less than you spent on the receiver for good used equipment.
Finally, to your question, there are so many phono preamps for you to choose from that it'll make your head swim. You need to decide if you want tubes or solid state and how much you want to spend. As I said, you have a pretty nice beginning to vinyl and some good components to go with would serve it well.
If I missed this whole thing completely, errr.....sorry.
Bill
